Combine a ride up the summit with spending an afternoon playing disc golf. The 18-hole course has both amateur and pro-level tee pads. The high altitude takes this game to another level. Follow the path down shady mountain slopes. Be on the lookout for bald eagles and deer while you play. Disc golf in Angel Fire is FREE. You will need to purchase a lift ticket. Rentals are available at the Ticket Office at the base of the Chile Express chairlift.

Enjoy the Mountainside By A Horseback Riding Tour

One of the most popular horse riding tours, the Half Day Gold Panning Tour, will take you along crystal streams in the nearby Carson National Forest. Start at Road Runner Tours in the morning and meander along rocky trails and over flower-filled meadows. Stop at various low-tide places where you’ll be given the equipment and learn how to pan.

A bag lunch will be provided. After you find your gold, you’ll head back on the second part of an easy half-day tour.

For more time in the saddle and a fantastic cowboy-style dinner, you can also book a Chuckwagon Tour. You’ll spend three hours exploring the magnificent wilderness of Carson National Forest. When you return back to camp, a real old-fashioned chuckwagon will be prepared for a true southwest cowboy adventure and meal.

Trek Down The Mountainside at Angel Fire Bike Park

Over 35 miles of expertly laid singletrack and trails featuring ramps, manicured berms and jump lines, await you at Angel Fire Bike Park. Named one of the premier bike parks in the southwest, you’ll ride the chairlift up to 10,000 ft and make your way down a 2,000-foot vertical drop.

There are trails for beginners to experts. Natural trails, which aren’t groomed are best for the novice while free-ride trails are full of drops and beams, better for experienced riders.

Two popular trails that are fun for all levels are the Jazz Hands and Diesel Trails which will send you on a fast rush among the trees. Bike rentals and helmets are available throughout Angel Fire. The chairlift and bike trails are open 7 days a week starting in May.
