Explore Scenic Hiking Trails In The Southern Rockies

Set against the Carson National Forest, Angel Fire is home to over 18 scenic hiking trails ranging from difficult to easy. Take in the view at Angel Fire Lookout on the 5-mile inclined Enlightenment Trail or take it easy on joints or with kids on the popular Angel Fire Deer Trail near town.

New Mexico Fishing And Water Excursions

Monte Verde Lake comes stocked with freshwater trout for avid or beginner fishing, Spring through Fall. Nearby, under the surface of sky-blue water, you can find rainbow trout and Kokanee salmon that grow to trophy sizes at Eagle Nest Lake.

Paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and pedal boats are all available for rental at Angel Fire’s spring-fed Monte Verde Lake. More adventurous spirits can sign up for one of many white water rafting excursions available, including in the rushes of the great Rio Grande.

Get A View From The Mountain Top

Whether it’s summer or winter in Angel Fire the lifts at Angel Fire Resort can take you to the top of the mountain if you’re not up for a hike. There are several food and beverage stations but nothing tops the view from 10, 677 feet.

Popular summer activities include ATV tours, golfing, hiking and fishing. Angel Fire is best known, however, for some of the most choice mountain biking trails in the southwest. The 2,000-foot vertical drop and scenic views have made it a favorite spot for bike enthusiasts and have earned it ‘top park’ awards by various publications.
