Top-Tier Golfing At Angel Fire Resort Country Club

What began as a nine-hole golf course in 1961 has been developed into a 6,653-yard eighteen-hole PGA-ranked golf course. Developed and designed by Lebus & Paul Ortiz, the 72-par course runs through the breathtaking scenery of Moreno Valley surrounded by Aspens and Pines. While the course already sits at 8,600 feet, it offers an even more unique mountain golf experience on the sixth hole as you tee off on a box 200 feet vertically above the ground.

Angel Fire Resort Country Club is home to two dining options and features a well-equipped pro shop with PGA-certified instructors available. For non-golfers, there are several outdoor and indoor events and activities at the County Club throughout the year.

The 28-acre Spanish named lake literally translates to Mount Green Lake. It’s a fun spot for people looking to fish in the mountains as it’s stocked every year with colorful rainbow trout. While the lake doesn’t offer a beach for swimming, there are plenty of things to do in the water and along the lake’s gentle mountain-eclipsed shores.

There are many things to do at the lake for water lovers. For the water adventurers in your group, Monte Verde lake hosts plenty of rentals on which to splash and explore. Try your luck at a stand-up paddleboard or canoe. Rent a pedal boat so the kids can easily explore the spring-fed lake in the average 78-degree mountain sunshine.

More of a dry land person or need a break from the water fun? There are kid and family-friendly activities at the lake including euro-bungee jumping and a climbing wall. Many families opt to picnic or hike the shores as they immerse themselves in the peaceful mountain valley. We invite you to escape the summer heat and come enjoy our beautiful lake in the Southern Rockies.
