Experience Top Adventures In The Mountains
Angel Fire, home to New Mexico’s highest peak, Wheeler Peak, stands at 13,671 feet above sea level. Groomed ski, snowboarding and biking trails send you down a swift 2,000 feet decline with many twists and turns. Many come for the peaceful surroundings. From that grounded feeling it’s easy to then seek thrilling adventures.

Mountain Biking At The Best Bike Park In The Southwest
Known for a 2,000-foot vertical drop, sweet berms, flowy lines and monster jumps, Angel Fire Bike Park has consistently been voted best in the southwest. Race under a canopy of Quaken Aspen, Ponderosa Pines and Rocky Mountain Maples on 60 miles of expertly groomed terrain. The park opens in Mid to late May and typically stays open until October for over 100 days of consecutive riding.
Take the chairlift to an elevation of 10,650 feet. The lift operates 7 days a week. Bring your own equipment or rent from a local bike shop. Angel Fire Bike Park makes it easy for you to fuel your mountain biking adventure.

Challenge Yourself To A Hike To The Top Of
Wheeler Peak
Take the 8.5-mile Williams Lake Trail to the top of Wheeler Peak, the highest elevation in New Mexico. Expect sweeping views of the valleys below and sightings of rare birds and wildlife. This trail is considered challenging including multiple switchbacks, uneven terrain and a 2,000-foot change in altitude. Make sure you pack rain gear, sunglasses, water and snacks.

Go White Water Rafting On The
Rio Grande
Angel Fire and the surrounding area offer guided white water rafting on mountain rivers, but for the most avid adventurer, you’ll want to raft the Rio Grande. This gorgeous canyon is filled with truly amazing rock formations and you’ll most likely get a chance to see wildlife like mule deer, river otters and beavers along the way.
Choose from half-day to overnight adventures. Courses vary but for the best adrenaline rush, you’ll want to include a run through the “Racecourse’, a class III rapids. Expect to get wet on the rapids like the Maze, Albert’s Falls, The Narrows, and The Thunderdome. Come prepared with appropriate clothing and sun gear.

Hot Balloon Ride
For one of a kind adventure, take to the skies in one of the most daring ways to fly. A hot air balloon ride in northern New Mexico is most likely an opportunity unlike any you’ve had before. Race Through A Wintery Mountain Wonderland On A Snowmobile
Snowmobiling is a popular winter sport in the New Mexico Rockies. With an average snowfall of 121 feet a year, there are plenty of wintery trails to choose from. Climb a challenging 2500 feet to the top of Greenie Peak where you’ll find exhilarating views of Wheeler Peak and the silver and white blanketed Moreno Valley.

At The Terrain Park & Back Country Trails
129 acres of expert trails, give the outdoor adventurer in you a chance to test your skiing or snowboarding prowess. Ride one of 7 chairlifts to the summit of 10677 feet. Choose from a black diamond course that will send you racing down the slopes of the southern Rockies on a thrilling 2077-foot vertical drop. The Maxwells Grant and Silver Chute trails are a must for adrenaline-filled winter ventures. For glade or ‘tree’ skiing, you’ll want to take a turn on the Bear, Elk, Eagle, and Shane’s Glades.
Angel Fire Ski Resort is home to four ski and snowboard terrain parks. Liberation, the largest park, has hosted the USASA Snowboard Nationals, designating it as the top-rated snowboarding park in New Mexico. Expect jumps ranging from 15 to over 50 feet, rails, dance floors, tabletops and more!
