Stargazing & S’mores

Do you love s’mores and the night sky?
Come join us for a magical evening of stargazing and s’mores at Monte Verde Lake! On select weekend nights when the moon is dim and the stars shine bright, we’ll be gathering near the Boat House to take in the beauty of the night sky.
Mike Hawkins, an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, will be on hand to operate the telescope, guide the discussion, and answer any questions you may have about the stars, galaxies, nebulae, and the wonders of the universe. It’s a fun, educational, and truly awe-inspiring experience that’s perfect for all ages.
We’ll have fire pits set up to keep you warm and complimentary s’mores to enjoy while you gaze at the stars. So, grab your friends, family, and a blanket to cozy up under the night sky!
When: Friday January 10th, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Where: Monte Verde Lake | Lakeview Drive
What to Expect:
- Dress warmly for the outdoors
- Bring your chairs, blankets, and binoculars if you have them
- Please leave white-light flashlights and phone screens at home (they can interfere with night vision and everyone’s stargazing experience)
Weather Note: While we do everything possible to keep this event on schedule, clear skies are essential for stargazing. If weather conditions or cloud cover prevent visibility, we’ll notify you by posting an event cancellation on social media and our website.
